Today I finally have for you the swatches of my pretty little M.A.C. Alluring Aquatic Extra Dimension eye shadows, Lorelei and Silver Sun. They are from the same collection as Goddess of the Sea,which you can find swatches of here.
The Alluring Aquatic Collection has some of the coolest packaging I have seen in a while. All the items in this collection come in metallic, teal blue cases with faux water droplets. Even the boxes come like that too. I had high hopes for this collection as I wanted to get as many things as possible so I could cherish the awesome packaging. I think I was pretty lucky to score the lipstick and two shadows :3
So click on through and lets have a look.
See! The boxes are so cool :3 I have of course kept them.
Squeee! The water droplets are even raised so they look pretty real.Lorelei: I am sorry for the already used product photos and the product around the edges. I couldn’t wait to use it *hangs head* I also have used it a tonne more when I found out this photo has shadow everywhere -_-
BUT! Look at it isn’t it pretty?!
Lorelei: I am such a sucker for nude eye shadows and when I saw the swatches for Lorelei I knew that I had to at least get this one. It is a glamed up nude shadow with awesome bronze and gold tones to it. It looks good blended with other colours or by its self.Silver Sun: I really love how the Extra Dimension eye shadows have waves and MAC pressed into them.Silver Sun: I wanted this colour when I saw all the swatches and when I got my hands on it in store, but then when I got it home I was like….now what? How am I going to wear this? Today I grabbed it thinking it was Lorelei and when I got to work to apply my make-up I discovered it was Silver Sun. I was just going to go without eye shadow today and then I thought “Just use it, why else did you buy it?”. It is actually an amazing colour and looks really good with my pale skin and green/hazel eyes. It is a metallic, green toned, gunmetal grey colour, which looks pretty awesome with black eyeliner.
Now have some swatches!
I don’t know if it just me, but they seem to have a small shift in them. It is more than likely the shimmer in them. I am so very pleased with these two colours. They are nice every day colours, but also very different to what is already in my collection.
Did you manage to score anything from the MAC Alluring Aquatic Collection?
Thanks for stopping by!
Good Evening Lovelies!
I am posting something a little different tonight, something taking me a little out of my comfort zone. I am posting my whole face tonight 😮 😮 😮 😮 I am part of the awesome group called PANZ (Polish Addicts of New Zealand) and they have set up some awesome challenges, this fortnight’s one is dressed up nude makeup. I don’t often wear all over nude makeup, my eyeshadow often is nude, but the rest isn’t. So this was indeed a challenge for me, but I think I did ok. So lets takes a look 😉
Good Morning Lovelies!
Today I have for your one of my latest MAC lipsticks, Goddess of the Sea from the new Alluring Aquatic Collection. Gah! The packaging of this collection is just so cool!! Metallic teal with water droplets! This collection was a bit of a comfort since I missed out on the Maleficent collection.
Goddess of the Sea was one of the lipsticks I knew I had to get once I saw it in person. Of the swatches that we released online I thought Mystical would be for me, but Goddess of the Sea won me over.
Hello again! I am still stuck at home sick -_- The parcels are mounting up on my work desk now, so I have to get better to go get them gah! Oh well! It does mean that I get to bring you a post about one of my new lipsticks. Today’s post is about one of my biggest lemmings lipstick wise, its MAC’s Heroine. I have wanted this lippy for so long! It came and went as a Limited Edition and every time I saw swatches I would feel the need for it all over again. Finally it was released as a permanent and I managed to get my own tube. Now with Lemmings this strong they can either go two ways; its all you’ve ever dreamed of and more or it was the worst purchase in all of existence. I have to admit I put off putting it on because I thought it would look horrible with my skin tone. However, it was like someone made Heroine just for me. I am so happy with it. Now lets take a look. *happy sigh* Read more
How has your week been? My mine has been pretty quite.I have a few posts lined up for you. Today’s one is about the foundation I have been using the last few months.
So in recent months I have had to be a bit tighter on my budget and I haven’t been able to replace my foundation with my usual MAC one. I went out shopping looking for a reasonably priced medium coverage foundation that could get me through the months until I could afford MAC again. I’m not saying nothing else isn’t as good or I am snobbing things just because they are not MAC, but I just really love my MAC foundation that much.
I purchased Max Factor’s new whipped cream foundation. Farmers had a sale on it so it was only $30. I have to admit I did resist at first because it did not cover like my MAC did, but my skin was in a horrible way and once I got it sorted the coverage was enough.
How is your week going? Just the usual for me so far 🙂 Today I bring to you Collection Cosmetics’Concealer.
Collection Cosmetics recently made their way to New Zealand and surprised us all with its range of cosmetics and reasonably low prices. I had heard a lot about their concealer and was also in the market for a cheaper replacement. If I remember correctly I paid $14 for it from Countdown. At that price and location you can sneak it into the groceries without anyone noticing.
The weather has been pretty nice to be lately, so I have actually got some half pie decent photos to share with you. Damn stupid Auckland weather *mutter mutter* Today I am going to share with you the Balm Overshadows.
I’ve had these pretties a while now and have only just got round to swatching them. I brought them from nzsale for about $ 12.00 NZD each, they cost $15.00 USD from the Balm’s website. Here’s what the Balm website has to say about them:
Meet the first finely milled, all-mineral shimmer designed to go over eyeshadow. Apply to the lid to transform the most subtle daytime shadow into nighttime shimmer.
How to Apply
Using your Give Crease a Chance brush, apply overshadow to your lids for a soft, blended shimmer, or apply wet for rich pigment.
Left: No Money, No Honey Right: Work is Overrated
I’ve kept the boxes because they look cool! Read more
Exciting news! Essence cosmetics have been found in New Zealand, well Glenfield Farmers in Auckland to be exact. No others Farmers store has been spotted with Essence just yet (that I can confirm anyway), but we can live in hope that it will spread to other stores as according to staff it has only been in store for two weeks. I made sure every time I dealt with a staff member at Farmers (I went back several times for more) that I gushed about how exciting it was to have in New Zealand.
Taken on my phone so please excuse the quality.
My beauty addicts who live in New Zealand you will understand how exciting it is to have Essence in New Zealand. New Zealand either has next to no new brands brought in and if we finally get them they are super expensive. HOWEVER Farmers is using (or close to) the recommended retail price of the Essence NZ website and everything is super cheap!!
This is what I brought on my first trip (I know a lot XD)
From what I have tried and played around with so far I am super happy with quality, especially for the price you pay. I’ll be sure to post some reviews.
Have you seen any Essence stands yet in New Zealand? Is Essence available in your country? What do you think of Essence Cosmetics?
Thanks for stopping by!
