It is winter here in New Zealand, so it is time to whip out the more vampy lipstick colours. Who am I kidding really?! I wear what ever I like year round, but I find that such dark shades go better with winter clothes. Today’s post is comparing two dark purple lipsticks. MAC’s Cyber and Revlon Va Va Violet. I have heard that Va Va Violet is a dupe for MAC’s cyber. In New Zealand both Revlon and MAC are relatively costly, MAC lippies retail for $40.00 NZD and Revlon lippies retail upwards of $20.00 NZD. Strangely enough Va Va Violet was harder for me to locate in NZ, I ended up finding it in a clearance store for $10.00 NZD.
So I thought I would compare them to see how close they really are.
Good Morning Nail Polish Lovers!
This one is for you. A few posts back I did a comparison post of OPI’s Just Spotted the Lizard. OPI in New Zealand can be super expensive so I was super happy to find that Color Club and China Glaze had cheaper versions of this polish. It also made me think what else did they have dupes for?! OPI Into the Night was another polish from the Spider Man collection that I adored, an almost sandy looking blue shimmer. It turns out that the possible dupes are from the same collections as the Just Spotted the Lizard dupes. Color Clubs In True Fashion Collection and China Glaze Bohemian Luster Chrome Collection.
Now lets see how right I am about these dupes.
In an earlier post I mentioned that one of my favourite nail polishes was OPI Just Spotted the Lizard, which supposedly is a perfect dupe for Chanel‘s Peridot. Back when I was with DomesticMinxes I did a post comparing OPI Just Spotted the Lizard and China Glaze Rare and Radiant, in that post I discovered that the two were pretty much identical. Not that long ago I got nail mail from Head2Toe Beauty which included Color Club‘s Editorial from the In True Fashion collection which looked soooo much like OPI and China Glaze so I just had to compare them all for you.
