2016 has seen some awesome new products and collections released in the beauty world. My own collection has expanded (quite wildly). Here are my favourites products, brands and collections from 2016.
Here are my can not live without products from 2016:
Too Faced Love Flush Blush in Your Love is King is one of those products that you have to stop yourself from using it every day because it is so useable and you want to try others. But then it is also so pretty that you have to make yourself use it. Pressed into the powder is a pretty little image of bunnies and leaves that despite my constant abuse is still there. It is so lovely, it lasts all day long and is easy to use. Full review here
Freedom Makeup Brow Pomade despite only costing $8.92 NZD is one of the best products I have tried all year, possibly of all time. I will share with you a more in depth review with this later on this month, but just know it has been keeping my brows in place for months now without letting me down.
Essence Matt Matt Matt lipsticks, these only hit NZ stores a month or so ago and I already own six (if you include the on the cat stole).02 Perfect is my favourite, but I am very happy with all of them, especially for the $5.20 NZD price tag ^_^
Freedom Makeup Highlighter in Glow was a whim purchase, but turned out ot be one of my most used highlighters of 2016. Glow is quite beautiful, it is a gold, luminescent shimmer that is so fine and applies like a dream. There are quite a few Freedom Makeup products in my faves form 2016
L’Oreal Paris Infallible Mattifying Base, 24HR Matte Foundarion and Fixing Spray. All of these three comboed together are just amazing. They all apply together nicely, for a amazing long lasting, matte finish that looks so natural. In 2016 I repuchased these all multiple times and I will continue too.
L.A.Girl Pro Conceal is just magic. I don’t know how many times I have repurchased this, but I would never be without it and I use it every single day. I think it was even in my 2015 faves ^_^
Freedom Makeup Pro Eye Primer is my last Freedom pick from 2016 I promise. Again I use this every day and it holds my eye shadow in place, keeps it looking sharp and doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. Bring on the Freedom Makeup picks of 2017, I have some high hopes. Full reveiw here
Maybelline Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara is one of a billiion mascaras I tried in 2016 and definitely the best. Full review here
Rimmel Kate Sculpting Kit has almost hit pan, especially in the contour shade. All three powders are great together, by themselves and are a great go to if you don’t know what to wear. Full review here
Lush No Drought Dry Shampoo has helped me increase the time in between washes without weighing down my hair and leeching the colour from it. It helps adds volume, tame some of my fly aways and keeps it from looking like an oil slick. The bottle is massive and has barely any dent from four months of use.
Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water in Oil found its way into my daily routine quite easily. I love the standard Micellar water from Garnier, but the in Oil version is designed for that harder to remove, waterproof makeup. Matte Liquid Lipstick and liquid eyeliner practically melt away when I use this to remove it, with no scrubbing and aggrevating of my super sensitive skin.
Vixen War Paint in Think Pink is my colour of choice for 2016. I finally went back to my wild and wonderful, bright hair colours. I tried a few different brands and came back to Vixen War Paint. They have an amazing selection of colours that are all easy to use, leaves your hair feeling great, with beautiful bright colour, that lasts for at least three weeks depending on the shade.
Apicare Rich Day Creme was my skin saviour of 2016. Its thick, nourishing and doesn’t cause my skin to wig out. I adore how quickly it soaks into my skin and the almost instant relief it gives my skin.
Here is to a year full of great beauty products and here is to 2017, hopefully is it is full of makeup, skincare and good times.
Happy New Year 🙂
