How is it going? August round up is late as anything, woops XD Well, here it is; some of the products I have been using through August.
Left to Right:
Jordana Eye Primer/Base, Australis Cya Later Pores, Trilogy Gentle Facial Exfoliant, Goodness Certified Organic Chia Seed Oil, Sleek Eye Brow Kit Extra Dark and Real Techniques Lash-Brow Groomer in front.
Now I wanna review these two together, because that is how I have been using them. Goodness shared an article a wee while ago about getting clear skin (you can read it here). The idea that I got from the article was that some blemishes are actually caused from over cleaning your skin and stripping it of all the good oil. The author actually suggests massaging good oil into your skin first and then exfoliating it off again.
This sounded so backwards to me, but when I started to think about it I thought that I better give this a go. I had great results. The Chia Seed Oil feels great on and massages in really well, it hasn’t got a very strong smell, which I did worry about (I don’t particular like having anything too strong smelling on my face). The Trilogy exfoliator is just as gentle as promised and does not over strip your skin (even when not used with the oil). The scrub has no microbeads in it, which is better for you and the environment.
I found that my skin felt soft, clean and well nourished after using these two together. I found that I had less breakouts and less skin irritations when I used this two to three times a week. I like using the Goodness Chia Seed Oil as it is an expensive oil, the Trilogy exfoliator is great, but a little on the steep side for me. However, the no microbeads thing is amazing!
Australis Cya Later Pores
– $21.00 NZD
– Available at Farmers, chemists, online
I heard about this primer through the grape vine and thought I had to try it out, I really like the idea of having all my pores smoothed out. I think its better than the Maybelline Baby Skin Primer, well for my skin type anyway. It goes on easily and smooths over my skin beautifully, I leave it to set for a few minutes and then I apply my foundation, which goes on so easily. I am really happy with the finish my skin has using this, everything sits in all the right places, without clinging to all the wrong places. My foundation also lasts a lot longer and looks good all day long. I would definitely keep replacing this, it is great to have in my collection.
This has been in my collection for quite a few years now, never really being used till now. I purchased this back when eyebrows were not of much importance to me, I only used the cream side and found it too intense and stopped using it. A wee while ago I talked about Dip Brow and how I loved what it did to my brows, but I hated how quickly it dried out and became unusable. Well this bad boy has replaced it and has done for two months now. I do not use the cream side, just the shadow side and it is a great colour and leaves such precise lines. It lasts all day long, but is not waterproof or entirely smudge proof, but I have become quite good at not touching my face too much during the day.
There is so much product it is ridiculous, it is going to take me ages to use it all and then I would definitely buy it again.
Real Techniques Lash-Brow Groomer
– $6.00 USD or $19.99 NZD
– Available at Farmers(NZ), Life Pharmacy (NZ) and iherb (international)
Where has this been all my life?? I use this every day! The brow comb is great, the brushes are stiff, but not raspy and whip my brows into place. The comb for lashes is amazing. Its spikey so be careful and leave the cap on (damn cat stole mine -_-). The lash combs helps get rid of eye liner or mascara clumps and make you look like you have more than four, horrible, clumped together spider leg lashes XD Its also insanely easy to clean. I will replace this over and over again!
Jordana Eye Primer/Base
– $1.99 USD
– Available at BeautyJoint
I have hit pan with this and use it almost everyday. It is inexpensive and a great product, I will definitely be going back for another one! I find it makes applying my eye shadow easier, colours stand out better and do not crease or fade as much. It is a pale pink and does not interfere with the colour of whatever eye shadow your apply over top. I generally apply this after my foundation and then let it sit for a bit before applying eye shadow on top. It seems perfectly fine to apply with fingers and or a brush. There are more than likely better products out there than this, but ones that come with a bigger price tag. I love having this in my collection because I do not feel guilty for using it, I will grab it again, but it will not stop me from trying other eye shadow primers.
