Bourjois has finally reached the shores of New Zealand and is available in select Farmers’ stores. When I found out I made sure to pay a visit to the nearest store and have a good look. The selection is pretty good and the prices are not too bad, including foundation, mascara, eye shadows, blushes, primer and lipsticks. I decided on trying one of their rouge edition velvet’s in Ole Flamingo.
The colour is a dark rosy fuchsia pink, which us such a bugger to catch a correct is photo of -_- However, it looks lovely on and I think suits me very well. I think it would look good on anyone! 😀
This lipstick is not like Lime Crime’s Velvetines, it is matte but it does not dry. It does settle though, which means you get a nice suede look without your lips drying out. It also lasts very well and comes off a bit on coffee mugs but not overly so.
(excuse the blurred things behind me) I found that you could put it on thinly and have more of a sheer look or you could put it on thicker to get a nice opaque look. I prefer the full opaque look personally, but it is all in how you apply it. I personally apply one side of each lip at the time and then the next and then onto the next lip to get the best coverage.
I would not mind another shade or two, but there is not a huge selection of colours. I wouldn’t mind giving a mascara or eye shadow a go though, I have heard good things about those.
They cost about $27 NZD (if I remember correctly), which is not super cheap, but not bad for a Farmers’ lipstick. If you have a club voucher its even better.
