Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Ole Flamingo

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Ole Flamingo

Good Morning,

Bourjois has finally reached the shores of New Zealand and is available in select Farmers’ stores. When I found out I made sure to pay a visit to the nearest store and have a good look. The selection is pretty good and the prices are not too bad, including foundation, mascara, eye shadows, blushes, primer and lipsticks. I decided on trying one of their rouge edition velvet’s in Ole Flamingo.

Bourjois RDVelvet Ole Flamingo TubeI like the tube it comes in, a little small but robust and I do like when the colour of the packaging matches the colour of the product itself.

The colour is a dark rosy fuchsia pink, which us such a bugger to catch a correct is photo of -_- However, it looks lovely on and I think suits me very well. I think it would look good on anyone! 😀

This lipstick is not like Lime Crime’s Velvetines, it is matte but it does not dry. It does settle though, which means you get a nice suede look without your lips drying out. It also lasts very well and comes off a bit on coffee mugs but not overly so.

(excuse the blurred things behind me) I found that you could put it on thinly and have more of a sheer look or you could put it on thicker to get a nice opaque look. I prefer the full opaque look personally, but it is all in how you apply it. I personally apply one side of each lip at the time and then the next and then onto the next lip to get the best coverage.

I would not mind another shade or two, but there is not a huge selection of colours. I wouldn’t mind giving a mascara or eye shadow a go though, I have heard good things about those.

They cost about $27 NZD (if I remember correctly), which is not super cheap, but not bad for a Farmers’ lipstick. If you have a club voucher its even better.

Where to Buy:

Farmers Albany, Glenfield, Takapuna, New Lynn, St Lukes, Manukau, Te Rapa, Rotorua, Hastings, Wanganui, Palmerston North, Paraparaumu, Blenheim, Riccarton, Hornby and Timaru

Have you purchased anything from Boujois? What would you recommend?

  1. That’s a really pretty color. I will have to remember to take a look in Farmers when I come home in July. I already know my credit card is going to take a hammering and I only have a week so I’m gonna have to be very dedicated to getting all my shopping done.
