How have you been? Sorry I have been extra quiet lately, I have been knocked flat by the flu. I also have been fighting an individual who thought it was ok to use one of my posts along with its content and images on their own website. Luckily they have now removed the post, a big thank you to those of you who helped out by leaving them comments. I just wanted to mention that if you wish to use any of my content please ask first and always link back to the original post. Thanks
Today’s post is about an cool Birthday present I received from my lovely lady DelindelDani, you might remember her amazing Guest Post. She bought me a awesome dark purple lipstick from Impulse Cosmetics lipstick, Melancholy. I have been wanting to try their lipsticks for ages now and Melancholy was first on my hit list.I have to admit I am not a super fan of lipsticks coming in lip balm tubes. I like my lipsticks to have points. It no biggie though, I love the label and it is such a beautiful formula that it can be applied with a lip brush without any problems. The pigmentation on this is gorgeous! I have never had such a dark purple that went on so easily and evenly. I am not a fan of the flat top lipstick application so I used a lip liner brush to get my lines and then filled in the rest of my lips straight from the tube. I was impressed though with how much control I had over the application with the flat top, I need to stop being prejudice against flat tops 😉 Boy does Melancholy stay on. It took oil based makeup remover to get it off my lips and even then they were still a little staining afterwards. This does mean that throughout the day the small amount you need to top barely shows through. I found I didn’t have any issues with bleeding, but it is always better to prepare with clear liner just to make sure. When dark lipstick bleeds you look like you belong in a horror movie, so I am always overcautious with my dark lippy 😉 I am very pleased with Melancholy and I look forward to trying some of the other colours from Impulse Cosmetics. Have you tried any of their lipsticks?
Thanks for stopping by!
