Good Afternoon Lovelies!
How has your weekend been?I have been at home sick -_- Not much use without a voice. It does mean I have had a bit of time to watch movies and play around with my new lighting set up. I managed to get my hands on a light box and a few desk lamps. Nothing too fancy, but a lot better than waiting for the Auckland weather to be good.
So! Today I have for you some swatches of the newish Australis Velourlips Matte Cream Lippies. I ended up with four out of five, the nude one calls to me because I love to have the complete set of things, but I don’t really wear nude lippies, especially matte nudes.
So lets take a look!
The red is the easiest to use and last the longest. I don’t know why though. Its such an awesome red too and is completely different to Lime Crime’s Red Velvet Velveteen. Well as different as a red lippy can be 😉Left to Right: Lime Crime Red Velvet and Australis Ny-cee
This was the first one I got, it came free with a $6.00 NZD magazine. It isn’t really my colour I think, especially with the clothing and makeup I choose to wear. I think it you paired it right it would be fantastic!Mal-i-boo
The purple is amazing!! The purple was the one I was after the whole entire time. It takes a bit of working to get it to set and layer right, but its worth it.
With all of the Velourlips I found that you have to let it set, before you add another layer and what ever you do, do not mush your lips together to try and spread it. It will bunch up and you will have to start over from the beginning. A second layer is not necessary, but is better and it will make the colour completely opaque.
They are not too drying, like some other matte lipsticks can be, but your lips have to be in perfect condition before you apply them or else the lippy will settle in all the dry bits. Eek
All together I really like the Velourlips from Australis. The finish is awesome and they last forever and wear very well. You do need to apply them again food, but really most if not all lipsticks have to be applied again after food.
I don’t see these as a replacement for Lime Crime Velveteens as they are completely different colour wise. They are handy if you live in New Zealand and Australia, where Lime Crime can be hard to find and for about $14.00 NZD they are awesome additions to your lipstick collections.
I am hoping that Australis will put out more colours, maybe darker colours this time round. Then I can have more!!
Thanks for stopping by!
